John Linton

John Linton was born in 1840 and educated at George Heriot's Hospital, Edinburgh. He practised in Edinburgh, initially as assistant to Matthews Duncan, before focusing primarily on obstetrics. In 1868 he was appointed Physician to the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, a post he held until 1879. Although he published little, his work includes 'A case of suppuration of dermoid cyst after delivery', published in the Transactions of the Edinburgh Obstetrical Society in 1874. He died in Kinghorn, Fife, on 25 October 1913.
