John Joseph Pershing

American soldier John Joseph Pershing was born 13 September 1860. He led the American Expeditionary Forces as General from 1917-1920, and after the war was made General of the Armies - the highest possible rank in the US military and one which was created specially for him. He was awarded honorary fellowship for the role he played during WWI. He died 15 July 1948.
