John Coldstream

John Coldstream was born in Leith in 1806 and graduated MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1827. After further study in Paris he established practice in Leith in 1829. Coldstream played a key role in founding a hospital for the sick poor in Leith in 1846 and the Home and School for Invalid and Imbecile Children in Edinburgh in 1855. He died in 1863.
