John Charles Hall

John Charles Hall was born in Nottingham in 1816 and received his medical degree from the University of Erlangen on 27 June 1840. He settled in Sheffield, teaching in the School of Medicine and serving as physician to the dispensary and house surgeon at St George's Hospital. Hall successfully campaigned for the establishment of a hospital attached to the dispensary and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 1 May 1848. He died in 1876.
