John Brown Buist

John Brown Buist trained at the University of Edinburgh, earning his MB in 1867, CM in 1870, and MD in 1871, and later a BSc in Public Health in 1902. He worked extensively as a vaccinator, acting as Physician and Vaccinator to several dispensaries in Edinburgh. He also served as Lecturer in General Pathology at the Edinburgh School of Medicine and later as Local Government Board Teacher of Vaccination. He published several works on vaccination, including 'Vaccinia and Variola: A Study of Their Life History' (1887).
