Jerome David Gaubius

Jerome David Gaubius was born in Heidelberg in 1705. He studied at the University of Leiden, graduating in 1725. He later succeeded Boerhaave as the Professor of Medicine and Chemistry at Leiden in 1734. He released many works but his most noteworthy was ‘Institutiones pathologiae medicinalis’ in 1758, which achieved widespread popularity and was later translated into multiple other languages. He died in 1780.
