James William Keay graduated MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1906 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1910. He worked in Scotland as Clinical Tutor and Resident Physician at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and as Surgeon at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. His publications include, 'Simple Perineal Operations as Used in Cases of Prolapsus Uteri and for Perineal Repair' (1910).
