James Nasmyth

James Nasmyth, 1st Baronet of Dawyck and Laird of Posso, was born around 1654 to John Nasmyth and Isabella Murray. He was a lawyer, being admitted advocate in 1684. His reputation led to him being known as 'the De'il o' Dawick'. He was made a baronet in 1706. He died in July 1720.
