James Mackenzie

Date of honorary Fellowship admission: 2 October 1755
James Mackenzie was born around 1682. He studied medicine in Edinburgh and Leiden before obtaining his MD from King’s College, Aberdeen in 1719. Mackenzie practiced medicine in Worcester and acted as an attending physician to the Worcester Infirmary from its establishment in 1745 until his retirement in 1751. He died in Warwickshire on 7 August 1761.

An honorific sporadically granted to both medical and non-medical individuals, the first being awarded in 1696.
