James Lind

Date of Fellowship admission: 6 November 1770
James Lind was born in Scotland in 1736. He visited China as a surgeon in 1766 and received an MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1768. In 1772 he accompanied Joseph Banks to Iceland. Lind was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in 1777 and became a physician to the royal household. He died in London in 1812.
