Henry Marcus Allen

Henry Marcus Allen, the son of Thomas Allen LRCSE, studied at the Universities in Oxford and Paris and trained at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. He held posts as House Physician, Resident Physician Accoucheur, and Obstetric Assistant at St Bartholomew's Hospital, and also worked in the outpatient department at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He later returned to Brighton, where he served as Local Medical Referee to the Royal National Hospital for Consumption at Ventnor on the Isle of Wight and the National Sanatorium for Diseases of the Chest at Eastbourne.
