Henry Jeckell Kendrick Vines

Henry Jeckell Kendrick Vines studied at St Mary's Hospital Medical School, where he earned his LM in 1869 and won prizes in midwifery, medical jurisprudence, and toxicology. He also held certificates in anatomy, physiology, histology, practical chemistry, botany, and medicine, and authored several publications including 'Consumption, a Brief Popular Consideration of the Disease'. He held posts in Sussex including Physician at St Mary's Cottage Hospital, Surgeon to the East Sussex Constabulary, and Surgeon to the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway Company. He later emigrated to Australia, practising in Melbourne, Sydney, and Broome, Western Australia, before returning to Britain, where he died in London in 1919.
