Guthrie Rankin

Guthrie Rankin was born in Kilmarnock and trained in Glasgow, earning his MB in 1880 and his MD in 1882. He worked initially in Scotland, including in his hometown, and served as Examiner in Medicine at the University of Glasgow. In 1892 he moved to Warwick, where he was Physician at the Warwickshire Dispensary and Cottage Hospital. In 1897 he relocated to London, becoming Physician to the Greenwich Dreadnought Hospital and the Royal Waterloo Hospital, and Lecturer in Medicine at the London School of Clinical Medicine. He remained in these roles until his death in 1919.
