George Tailour

George Tailour was educated at the University of Glasgow, earning his MD in 1768, and becoming Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1771. He was likely born in St Christopher (now St Kitts and Nevis), and spent 15 years practising medicine there. His son John was also a physician, earning his MD from the University of Edinburgh in 1776 and serving in the East India Company army. George Tailour died in 1777 and is buried in Greyfriars Kirkyard.
