George Reginald Edward Gray Mackay was born in Edinburgh in 1886. He graduated MB from the University of Edinburgh in 1909 and entered military service, becoming a Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps by 1915. He became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1914 and was elected a Fellow in 1918. Mackay died in Surrey in 1965.
