George May Lowe

George May Lowe was born circa 1844 in Lincoln. He qualified in medicine and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1897. He practised initially in Newport on the Isle of Wight before later working in Ryde. He was active in public life, serving on Lincoln City Corporation and later Ryde Town Council, and held the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Volunteer Medical Corps. He died suddenly in 1912 and was buried in Ryde Cemetery.
