George Augustus Borthwick

George August Borthwick received his MD from the University of Edinburgh on 24 June 1808. He practised as a physician and surgeon and held posts including physician to the Royal Dispensary and surgeon to the Western Eye Dispensary. He joined the Highland Society in 1817 and was elected an ordinary Fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh on 24 January 1820. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 3 February 1824 and was also a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland. He died circa 1844.
