Frederick Emmet Beck earned his LM from Queen's College Belfast in 1861. Primarily a general practitioner, he also served as Medical Attendant to the Belfast Provisional Workers Lithographic Printers' Friendly Society, Medical Referee for the British Equitable Assurance Company, and Honorary Physician to the Belfast Benevolent Society of St Andrew. He was a Member of the British Medical Association and lived in Belfast until his death in 1896, aged fifty-two.
