Frederick Collins

Frederick Collins received his medical degree from the University of Aberdeen on 6 August 1851. He served as surgeon to the Infant Orphan Asylum and to the Lying-in Charity, Wanstead, and was also a union medical officer and surgeon to the South-West Essex Society. Later, he served as house surgeon at Guy's Hospital. Collins became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1845 and a Member of the Sydenham Society, and was admitted a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 5 August 1856. He published on 'Sulphuric acid in epidemic infantile diarrhoea' and 'Chloroform in epilepsia laryngae' and died on 9 November 1880, aged 53.
