David Dicksone

David Dicksone received his medical degree from the University of Harderwijk on 21 February 1690. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 8 October 1694. Dicksone was one of several physicians appointed to a committee tasked with revising the 'Edinburgh Pharmacopoeia' in March 1697. On 5 July 1697 he presented a recipe for epileptic water, which the College considered. In 1709 Dicksone was appointed to a committee dedicated to better regulating the practice of medicine, and in 1721 he again assisted in revising the Pharmacopoeia.
