David Daniel Davis

David Daniel Davis was born in Carmarthenshire in 1777. He received his MD from the University of Glasgow in 1801. Davis established his medical practice in Sheffield in 1803 and was appointed physician to the city infirmary in 1804. In 1813 he moved to London and practised midwifery there before being appointed physician to Queen Charlotte's Lying-in Hospital in 1814. Davis was professor of midwifery at University College London between 1828 and 1841. He died in London in 1841.
