Charles Cromhall Easterbrook was born c.1867 in Midlothian. He was educated at George Watson's College before studying medicine at the University of Edinburgh, graduating MB in 1892 and MD in 1897. He was appointed Junior Physician at the Royal Edinburgh Asylum and obtained the diploma of the Royal Medico-Psychological Association in 1897. In his final year as a student he served as President of the Royal Medical Society. He was admitted as a Member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh in 1900 and elected a Fellow in 1903. During the First World War he offered his services to the Scottish Medical Services Emergency Committee. He served for thirty years as Physician Superintendent of the Crichton Royal Institution, Dumfries. He died in Edinburgh in 1949.
