Conservative politician Arthur Stanley was born 18 November 1869. He was Chair of the Joint War Organisation of the British Red Cross Society during both world wars. In 1916, he co-founded the College of Nursing (later known as the Royal College of Nursing). He was awarded honorary fellowship for the role he played during WWI. He died 4 November 1947.
