Archibald Campbell

Date of honorary Fellowship admission: 30 November 1758
Archibald Campbell, 3rd Duke of Argyll, was born in 1682 to Archibald Campbell, 1st Duke of Argyll and Elizabeth Talmash. He was instrumental in the establishment of the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh in 1726. He also held a number of major political posts, such as Keeper of the Great Seal of Scotland. He died in 1761.
