Andrew Kenney obtained his MD from the University of Edinburgh on 24 June 1812, with a dissertation on pulmonary tuberculosis. He was admitted a Licentiate of the College on 5 May 1818 and elected a Fellow on 4 May 1819. In 1832 he relocated with his family to the Concordia estate in Tobago, where plantation records list 131 enslaved people. He died in Tobago in 1835.
