Andrew Halliday

Sir Andrew Halliday was born in Dumfries in 1782 and graduated MD at the University of Edinburgh in 1806. He served as a military surgeon during the Napoleonic Wars and later entered British service, becoming personal physician to the Duke of Clarence. Halliday died in Dumfries in 1839.
