Alfred Boyle Thompson was educated at Queen's University Belfast and was a Licentiate of the Society of Apothecaries of London, a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. He was a member of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple and served as Medical Officer to the Law Clerks Society and the Incorporated Law Society. He also acted as Medical Examiner to the School Board for London and the Norwich Union Insurance Society. He died in 1893.
