Alexander Dundas

Date of Fellowship admission: 4 November 1695

Alexander Dundas received his medical degree from the University of Reims on 27 January 1688. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh on 4 November 1695. Dundas served as Secretary of the College from December 1695 to December 1698 and as President from December 1702 to November 1704. On 13 July 1704 he reported to the sederunt that he had spoken with the principals of the Edinburgh and Glasgow Colleges to create 'an agreement betwixt the College of Physicians and the four universities'. A committee of six Fellows, including Dundas, was appointed to explore the proposed terms.
