The Recently Appointed Consultants (RAC) are those in their first 10 years as a consultant and the Committee, created to support you, have two elected seats on Council, currently held by Drs Helen Liddicoat (Respiratory Physician, Tayside) and Caroline Scally (Cardiologist, Lothian).

How can the Committee support you?

The Committee work to develop content which can support those clinicians beginning their careers as consultants or who would like to further their own education and development.

This resource aims to provide recently appointed consultants (appointed within the last ten years) with information, tips and resources surrounding the issues experienced upon becoming a new consultant.

Enhance: Mentoring for Medics

We are committed to supporting physicians throughout their career. Enhance, the College’s new free mentoring for medics scheme, creates a safe environment for clinicians to share their experiences, learn from each other and develop key professional skills.

The RAC has a podcast called Consultant Conversations, providing support on the non-clinical aspects of being a consultant.
