Jas Keir at 63, a labourer The surface of his body & the tunica adnata of his eyes appear lightly tinged of a yellow colour. He also complains of constant sickness at stomach, but unattended with vomiting & he is affected with an obtuse pain in the right side which is encreased in a recumbent posture. Pulse 86, Tongue white, Appetite much impaird, Belly rather bound & the foeces appear of a white colour. His urine is discharged in rather less quantity than usual & it stains linnen immersed in it of a yellow colour. These complaints have continued for about a forthnight past, & he supposes them to have arisen from exposure to severe cold while at his work. He has taken a vomit from which he has experienced some benefite. Cap. Pulv Ipecac Ji. pro Emet nec non sumat Pil Aloet gr V. om n 30 The vomit operated well & he has in general an easy stool every day from the pills. He thinks himself rather easier. The yellowness is somewhat diminishd & his stools rather of a darker colour. Repet. Emet. Cont. Pil. u. a. Febr 6 His stools and urine are now nearly of the natural colour & the yellowness is much diminishd. Cont. Pil. aloet. u. a. 13 Has no remains of yellowness or other symptoms of Jaundice Let him be dismissd.
