Marian Mosman at 40 a married woman, has her menstrual evacuation in less considerable quantity than usual, though it generally takes place at the regular periods. She is affected also at these periods with a sense of fulness & suffocation. Her abdomen is considerably swelld, & feels hard to the touch, but without any evident fluctuation. The swelling is diminishd after each menstrual period but encreases again upon the aproach of the discharge. Pulse 64 & soft, Belly regular, Appetite in general good. Her complaints have subsisted for three years past, & arose as she thinks from a severe fever, which she had at that time. They have of late encreased in severity, particularly the pain & swelling of the abdomen. She has taken no remedies. Cap. Pil. Aloet gr V om. n. 26 Has in general two or three loose stools every day from the pills. In other respects she continues much as before. But her cough & breathing are somewhat alleviated. Cont. Pil. sed cap. i. 2 da quag. noete solummodo. nec non Rx. Pulv. Cort. Peruv. - Rad Rubiae aa ℥p 9. Has continued her medicines regularly, without any obvious uneasiness. She is to day affected with considerable pain at the under part of her belly & soon expects the menstrual discharge. Cont. Med. u. a. Febr 13th Has had the menstrual discharge since the last report nearly in the natural state. But she still complains of pain & swelling in her belly, & thinks she has some headach from the powders. Intern Pulv. Cont. Pil Aloet u. a. 27 The pills keep her belly regular but she still complains of some degree of pain & swelling in the under part of it, & is still also affected with headach Cont.
