    In case of this patient an evid ex of Anasar

    And although not without susp. of some depos of water also in cavit of abdom, that is of complic with ascit, yet upon whole may be consid as a recent & fav case.

    Am here attempt cure by means of emet & of Crem of Tart, intended both as laxative & diuret.

    From these hope such evac will soon be obt. that may have recourse to tonics.

    But if disapp. in evac by this means have some thoughts of trying here, the Ice plant of Mesembryanthemum [Crystall] an artic of late highly recomm in drop. but of which for my own part have yet no exper.
