    James Rowlie

    (1787-1788)

    No30 James Rowlie. at 45.

With regard to case of this patien must own that in some partic much at a loss.

Part indeed of affect suff. obv. Scally erupt viz. about sides of neck

This have no doubt in consid as being an affect of the Herpet kind.

But with this tumour of abdom most consid & most distress part of compl altog. unconn.

And resp. this tumour diff. opin may be entert.

What to me however app. most prob is that to be consid as an affect of Rheum kind, seated in abdom muscles & [integ].

This suppos I allow not without diffic.

And before can speak with much confid must see more of it.

If however conject well founded no reason at least to fear danger [con.]

And may even hope that of no long contin.

From uncert. resp. case have done less than might have been perhaps thought necess.

But this course seemed rather advis. as before came under our care affect seemd to be somewhat on decline.

With view to tumour itself [have] merely directed frict with Camph. Oil.

While in conseq of state of urine was led to use of Crem Tart.

Under this med disease has at least contin progress to recov.

But of effects afterwards speak & prob then more certain of disease
