    Anoth inst of distinctly markd pulmon affect.

    Has been hitherto & still cont chiefly at least, under form of Haemopt.

    But here also very great danger of degen into Phth. Pulm.

    And from this in end fatal concl.

    At same time pres. sympt cannot be consid as unfav

    And many inst where app. more alarm, in which however no Phs occurs.

    Here have begun treatm by use of a refrig & mucil. med.

    A combin viz of Cream of Tart & Gum Arab.

    And to this with view to farther refrig power have added a prop. of Nitre.

    If under this med. remov of bloody expect, with mitig of cough & relief of pain of breast, shall not prob. think of doing any thing farther.

    But if pain of breast severe may lead to applic of blister.

    As means of allev. cough may employ an opiate.

    And to restr. haemorrh. may have recourse to astring.

    In these partic however must be directed by future situat of patient & future occurr.
