John Henderson at 29 of a stout habit of body & healthy appearance His whole head, his arms & the trunk of his body are covered with a copious eruption, the pustules of which are quite distinct & in some places at a considerable distance from each other. Some of them have a red appearance others are covered with a thick whitish incrustation & in general they are about the 6th of an inch in diameter. This eruption is not attended with any pain or itchiness. But he has severe shooting pains in the crown of his head & top of his shoulder & has great weakness & pain in his eyes, which are without any marks of inflammation or evident disease. Pulse. Tongue & appetite natural. Belly costive These complaints commenced about three weeks ago. The coming out of the eruption was not preceded or attended by any particular symptoms. The affection of the eyes began about four days ago, since which time the headach has been easier. he knows no cause whatever for these complaints. He formerly enjoyd good health & none of his relations are subject to such diseases. He has used no medicines excepting an [oily] application to his shoulders to relieve the pain. Rx. Antimon. Crud. ppt. ℥ p. cap dos [illegible ] ter de die. 26. Has taken the powders withou their producing any obvious operation. The white incrustations have fallen off from most of the pustules on his back, breast, & face. Appetite good. Belly regular. Cont. Antim Crud. u. a. Decr 3. The powders sitt very easily on his stomach & have no sensible operation, some fresh pustules, have lately appeard on different parts of his body, & he thinks his sight is much affected. Cont Pulv. Antim. crud. u. a & hab. Solut Saturn ℥IV qua opl. lav. partis affectae. 10 Has used the solution as directed & taken the powders regularly. But the eruption on his face is rather encreased & his sight very much affected; though in other respects he is in tolerable health. Interm. Med. & Rx Sol. Arsenici gr ii. Ag.
