Case in some respects a doubtfl one. When came under our care most urgent sympt also affect of alim canal. Partic a severe & distress. Diarrhoea But ground to fear that this as well as other sympt. were conseq. [illegible] of pneum affect. And some reason for susp. that liable to Phthisis as indic by pain of breast cough & quickness of pulse And this somewhat corrob. by two other partic, absence of Menses, & night sweats. For reason to fear that these as well as Diarrh. are of Colliq. kind. If this the case prosp. of recov cannot be very great. From affect however already obs from employm. contin use neither necess nor prop. For which has had affect of [dis] loosness has augm thirst While from empl. cannot have any tend to radic cure On suppos of Tuberc. Phthis here prop course of Cicut with Per. [B] For although tempor. remov. of diarh. or other urgent sympt. yet will soon again return. Pract. however may be empl. at least for immed relief. And if pneum affect merely catarrh may hope that most distress partic diarrh. soon entirely over come. With view to this have directed an Emet & Theb. Pills. And from occas empl. of opiates & astring may hope for mitig if not entire remov. But if these have not soon good affect & if susp. of Phthis cont. have thoughts of trying Cicuta perhaps conj with Peruv. Bark. But if that case too much reason to appreh. that all trials will be in vain.
