    18. Kath Hutton a female in 26th year, has now for long time been subj to severe & obstin diarrhoea.

    And whatev may have been case at first not improb. that has now induced such a state of alim canal, that all attempts to recov. without affect.

    At same time by no means such evid of any local affect as to lead us to desp of recov.

    And hope that under [cause] sympt if not remov. may at leas be allev.

    This I am endeav to accompl. by attempt to give tempor ease by by opium

    And to secure advant by Sucu Japon.

    Which however, in this case, am empl in subst, & as comb with Pulv Cretac for reasons to be afterw. assignd.
