    Isabel Renton

    1785

    New cases Der. 2d 1785.

    Remarks Der. 10th.

    17. Case of Isab. Renton a woman in 46 year, affords ex of a disease very freq at this season of year.

What I think most prop. disting by title of chron catarrh.

And which although in gener cons. as not alarm, yet in end not unfreq fatal.

In pres situat of this patient [howev] no app. which at pres now at least can be consid as danger.

And reason to hope although dis should cont during course of winter will as form. have relief on return of warm weath.

But before this period may exp. to relieve pat. by prop remed.

Partic by those, which give determ from unload breast, or give determ from lungs to other parts.

As such began pract you will obs. by direct a vomit.

And this probab. shall occas rep. when from circum of dysp. & diff exp. reason to think that large accum of viscid mucus.

But here chiefly attempt cure by endeav to prev. this from giving encr. disch by kidney.

And as diuretic here, am empl. the Vin Nicot.

From which although I own no very extens exper of use, have yet I think seen best affects in some cases.

And from general good affects of diuret in cases of chron catarh am disp to hope that may here prove very serviceab.
