John Young has been now for a consid time a Dispen patient.
And am sorry to say without hitherto deriv much benef. from pract empl. Have selected case as subj of pract & lect here as exhib an affect. not at least freq. to be met with. To his disease, following syst of Mr Sauv, & other nosol, as chiefly marked be bleeding from gums, might give name of Stomacce. But here quest of chief [import], whether to consider haemorrh, as depn on local affect of Gums thems, or on condit of gener. mass of fluids. This quest., shall afterw have occas to considr, when treat of case at more length. May only obs. that is chiefly on idea of gener. affect of fluids, that have at pres put this patient, on use of Peruv. Bark, & dilut. Vitr. acid With which however if be not soon prod of good effect is intent to conj some [remed] intended to act on gums themselves
