Christ Geddes. at 50 complains of great thirst & want of appetite which are accompanied with loss of strength & as she expresses it a wearied soreness over her whole body. Pulse 80. Heat natural. The present symptoms first attackd her about three weeks ago, at which time the most obvious symptom was a great pain in the abdomen. Soon after a looseness appeard & has continued ever since. It was attendd at first with severe gripes, & some tenesmus, but these symptoms have now left her. The matter discharged is without any bloody appearance, but it is often somewhat, of a greenish cast. No cause can be assignd for the above complaints. She has taken a vomit, & two pills but does not know of what [they] were composed, & has had no advice from any regular practitioner. June 12th Cap. Pulv. Ipecac Ji pro Emet. nec non Rx. Infus. Japon ℥ VI Mucil. G. Arab ℥ii M cap. ℥i bis indies sumat etiam om. m. Pil. Theb. grV 19. Has been free from the looseness ever since she began the mixture. Cont. Mist. u. a. Interm Pil. Theb. 26. Finds herself well in every respect. Let her be dismissd.
