1784
No35 Febr 27th 1784
James Harris at 40, yesterday about one o’Clock he was affected with nausea soon followed by a severe coldness which continued without preceding trembling for an hour & a half. To this a burning heat succeeded which was relievd at nine this morning by an universal & profuse sweat. But it soon disappeared. Pulse 80 & small. Head & back very painful. Appetite bad. Belly costive His first paroxism was on Sunday the 14th inst, & they have since recurrd every second day. But the succeeding interval is always shorter than the [preceeding]. He has taken two vomits of Ipecac. One of these he took at the commencement of a paroxism & it had the effect of shortening the cold fit, without disturbing either of the following stages. 28. Cap.
