    Affect somwhat singul.

Cheifly under form of erupt [illegible] of small phlegmones

These however entirely confined to one hand.

And these seemd to be the effect of past accd

Small splinter of wood viz having been accid run into hand.

How far supposit of patient in this respect strictly well founded will not pretend to say.

At same time, from comm & course of affect, at least highly prob.

But must also acknowledge, that have never in former pract met with any simil inst.

Here suppos splinter of wood to have been origin of whole was [inclind] to [referr] pustules to matter found at [part] being [absorbd]

And from retent at partic parts giving rise to phlegm, under which form the disease app.

On this view imagind that cure to be effected by dimin encreased action at part, & inflam [diath] in habit in general.

With first of these intent, had recourse to Ungt Saturn.

With last, to comps powder of Jallap which from prop of Cream of Tart which cont. may be ranked among refrig. purgat.

In operat of both these remed, app. at least not disapp.

For while purgat oper briskly, by means of ointm, sores seemd to obt dispos to heal

And whether from [remed] or not in short time dismissd free from affect
