    In case of this child distinct markd inst of Rachitis.

    This suffic evinced not merely in having lost power of walking but in obvious affect of bones, both of infer & super. extrem.

    And besides other sympt. are prob. to this also to referr, short tickling cough.

    For among other evid affect there also occurrs distors of chest.

    And this well known to give irritat, supp. cough.

    Which here the rather probab. as cough without expector.

    Taking this to be the disease prognos. cannot be favour.

    Not indeed that disease often suddenly fatal termin.

    Or although such an event sometimes takes place, that here any sympt indic.

    But for most part, after occurring, progr not easily checkd.

    And after distor. have once taken place, very rarely indeed, that bones regain former fig.

    Upon whole then expectat that shall be of service to this patient, not very great.

    Yet while contin to attend us some trials at least may be made.

    And for this purp. have begun a course of chalyb, conj with an absorb. powder.

    From this have in view the destruct of acid in stomach restorat of tone to syst. & destruct of acid in stom a means tend to weaken it.

    That may have prop trial must be persisted in for some length of time. If fails sea bathing
