    Elizabeth Aikman

    (1780-1781)


    Eliz Aikman, One of many inst in which during pres course have employd Vitriol Acid as a remedy for cutan affection.

    In several other cases have used it I think both extern & internally with very great success.

    In pres inst use has also I think been attended with manif & consid advant.

    Here however had to comb an [obst] inst of Lepra.

    And that too very generally extending over whole body.

    Hence if even found to yeild to this med could not be expected that would be soon removed.

    And that too although used both internally & externally.

    When last spoke While use regul contin. had opport of [marking] in the disease although slow yet grad decline.

    On intermiss however of intern use for space even of single week some fresh erupt. appeard.

    Will not posit affirm that this might not be accidental

    At same time rather inclind to consid it as evid of influ of med.

    On this course then, since began which disease has very much changd appear for better, patient still contin

    And hope that may afford us as suggested when formerly spoke of case striking example of effic of med.

    After this patient ten others in list of whose cases already spoken.

    But either dismissd from attend before last subj of lect. or so lately treated of that nothing farther need now be added.

    With these remarks then conclude case lect for winter session.
