    Isabel Campbell

    1790

    No24 January 5th 1790.

Isabel Campbell at 40, has a constant discharge from the vagina of a considerable quantity of thick viscid, whitish coloured matter, but without any considerable ardor urinae. She complains also of pains in various parts of the body, particularly in the right side. She is also frequently affected with palpitations & sometimes with fainting fits.

Pulse 80 & pretty full, tongue white, appetite & strength much impaired, Belly & menses regular.

The discharge from the vagina first appeared after a flooding, with which she was affected about a year ago. And it has continued ever since with little intermission. She perceives it to be increased in quantity before the menstrual periods, & is sensible of its continuing during the flow of the menses

Her other complaints have come on lately, & she thinks, that they have been induced by the weakness consequent on the continued discharge.

    She had used no medicines
