No 15. Mary McKay At 16.
Disease of this patient consists almost entirely of one symptom. A pain viz of head & confined very much to right side. Is at least pretty nearly under form of what authors have styled Hemicrania. But this as well some other minute distinctions am inclined to think rather improper. And would [comprehend] whole under more general appellation of Cephalea. To that genus then consider present case as belonging. But must be admitted that Cephalea from very different causes. And that according to these cure not a little varied. Among others a very frequent cause is a Rheumatic affection in integumentary of head. And this am inclined to think operates in present instance At least seems to me much in favour of that supposition that pain so considerably aggravated in bed in night. Though at same time that may be consequence of horizontal posture. Is however on idea of Rheumatic headache that have here had recourse to Hyoscyamus An article which in many former instances [of] this kind have I think employed with great benefit. But of practice here reserve observations till again speak of case.
