    Jean Sutherland

    (1789)

    No11 Jean Sutherland at 34.

In case of this patient have ordinary symptoms of Catarrh in chronic state.

And although suspicion of hurt from a fall, yet am inclined to consider it as very pure & uncomplicated instance of Catarrh.

As occurring in patient, not at advanced period of life, & as not of long continuation am in hopes may have favourable termination.

Or at least see no reason to apprehend great danger.

And even notwithstanding unfavourable period of year, have yet hopes that in no long time mitigation of affection may be produced.

Have here you will observe in first place employed Emetic to unload breast.

And have since had recourse to squill pills & issue, as means of promoting expectoration & producing determination [elsewhere]

But of these practices reserve observations till future [appearance]
