Kath Hastie at 60, has some inflammation of the tunica adnata of the left eye, attended with intolerance of light & diminution of vision. On inspection the pupil of the eye affected does not seem to contract freely. She complains also of a deep seated pain in the left temple. Belly regular, tongue dry with much thirst, Pulse about 70 & weak, Catamenia have ceased several years ago. These complaints first occurred about eight days ago, during convalescence from a fever, & she describes the first attack as resembling a mist, appearing before her eyes. She knows no particular cause for this affection & has used no remedy but a collyrium, of the composition of which she is ignorant. Hab solut. Saturn ℥ i. pro collys nec non sumat Pulv. Crem Tart coch parv. bis indies November 8. Has used the solution as directed & the inflammation of her eye & pain in the left temple are somewhat diminished.
