In case of this patient have a collection of affections almost solely referred to intestinal canal. And at least some presumption that may arise from worms. Of this however by no means certain. And is chiefly with view to diagnosis that have had recourse to mixture of Sem. [illegible] & Rhubarb. If from this, any worms discharged, may conclude that these cause of symptoms. And shall according to circumstances have recourse to different anthelmintics. But if Ascarides, which formerly discharged, shall probably employ lime water or some other article capable of killing, them under form of injection. For in this way, in my opinion very generally at least most effectively expelled. If no worms discharged, & reason to conclude that none present which I own, am rather inclined to believe, shall treat case as affection of alimentary canal. And after [previous] evacuation shall endeavour to strengthen tone by some of stomachic bitters.
