    No27. January 8th 1788.

    Ann Craig. at 24 is frequently affected with the sense of a ball rising from her stomach to the oesophagus. It particularly attacks her at bed time. She has also frequently the sensation as if small animals were creeping through her upper & lower extremities & this feeling is attended with a great sense of heat in her head neck & shoulders. She has often also a tendency to deliquium with great dejection of spirits & dreadful apprehensions of danger.

    Pulse 100 & weak. Belly natural appetite impaired. menses irregular not having appeared for these two months past, & she says they never were seen at any stated time.

    These symptoms came on about six weeks ago. She attributes them to a fright at that time. She has used no remedies.

    January 12.

    Has some slight sickness from the powders; but without vomiting Her other symptoms continue much as before; & ever since her complaint began she has been constantly affected with profuse sweatings during the night.

    Symptoms upon the whole [easier] & she is particularly less affected with sweatings during the night.

    Has been much affected with vomiting which she ascribed to her medicines. They were intermitted on the 22d instant & since that she has taken the aromatic [mixture] vomiting now gone But her other symptoms continue much as before

    The sense of heat & thirst are much diminished since he1 began the solution. Other symptoms continue easier
